Eupora officials have awarded a contract to make improvements at the city airport.
The Board of Aldermen, in a special called meeting Friday, accepted a $289,103.25 bid from Mississippi Paving & Construction of Oktibbeha County for the overlay and marking of the runway, taxiway and apron at the Eupora Airport.
The bid was the lowest of three opened a week earlier and was unanimously accepted after review by Calvert-Spradling Engineers.
The total project cost, including engineering and legal fees, will be $331,606. A grant from the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Improvement Program, which allows small airports to participate in FAA grant funds, will cover the entire cost.
