Mays is a member of Mount Union Missionary Baptist Church located on Clark Avenue. He is a deacon, serves as chairman of the bus ministry, the adult choir adviser, secretary of Zion Baptist Association, director of the Zion Baptist Sunday School and BTU Congress.

He is past president of the Webster County Ministerial Association and member of the Fellowship Outreach Ministry. He is also a member of Liberty Lodge No. 487 in Eupora.

Mays worked at Futorian Manufacturing Co. for 35 years until the plant closed.

"I will work with the mayor and the fellow aldermen for the best interest of the citizens of Eupora," Mays stated. "I will always have time to talk to anyone about any problem they may have. I will work hard to create jobs for adults and youth of our city.

He continued, "On April 6 I humbly ask for your vote and support. May God bless each of you."
