Specific tasks will be identified at a combined Vision to Action meeting set for 6 p.m. Monday at the Eupora Depot.
The tasks will be identified by committee chairs with assignments and deadlines defined.
One does not have to be a member of the Webster County Development Council office to participate in Vision to Action, and interested citizens from throughout the county may attend Monday's meeting even if they have not attended past meetings.
The meeting will be a followup to an April 26 Vision to Action meeting at the Eupora Depot. That session primarily focused on what participants can do to jump-start the implementation of the Vision to Action plan.
These are some of needs that were identified, according to notes of the meeting provided by the Webster County Development Council:
Committees need to be more aggressive in publicizing meetings and events, including fliers, booths and advertising, and to show results and publicize those results.
Personally invite another person to the next meeting.
Involve students and local civic groups in working with other groups/organizations to reach common goals.
Ask the law enforcement officials and Board of Supervisors to use jail labor more frequently to clean up the county to make it more presentable to visitors.
Ask elected officials to have a positive attitude about the WCDC and Webster County, and be prepared to let the general public know positive things and disregard the negative comments. The elected officials in the county will be contacted and encouraged to participate in and support WCDC.
Market the county to the surrounding area to attract newcomers.
A mass community choir to be pursued in conjunction with Eupora Arts Inc. The choir, which had a practice session Tuesday at the depot, will perform at the Freedom Fest at Whites Creek Lake on July 3.
Look into the requirements to be a "Certified Retirement Community."
Meeting notes, including followups and "to dos," will be distributed by WCDC Director Steve Anderson.
