Two local men attended the National Workforce Innovations Conference in San Antonio, Texas, this summer.
Representing The Mississippi Partnership and Three Rivers Planning and Development District were District 2 Supervisor Mart Salley of Eupora, chief elected official from Webster County; Bobby Smith of Eupora, Workforce Investment Area monitor; Clarke Casteel, WIA director; and David McMillen, board chairman.
Topics discussed included The Changing Face of America's Workforce, Identifying Local High-Growth and High-Demand Industries, Training Models for the 21st Century Workforce, Developing and Retaining Incumbent Workers, Strategic Partnerships for Economic Development and Workforce, and Entrepreneurship and the Rebirth of Local Economics.
