The East Webster Wolverines went into Friday night's matchup with Weir knowing they faced a tough opponent in the Lions, but any loss is hard - especially when it's by more than 40 points.

For Weir (1A, 5-0), East Webster (1A, 2-3) was just another bump in the road on the way to a perfect season. The Wolverines will now look to Friday's matchup at Durant to even up on the season.

The undefeated Lions, one of the top-ranked 1A teams in the state, zipped up the game with 21 unanswered points in the first quarter and never looked back.

Weir's James Woodard lead off the scoring with a 6-yard run into the endzone and a Jonathan Beard PAT. Weir's Cedrick Miller than added 6 more points with a 68-yard punt return with Beard adding a PAT. The Weir offense continued its driving force with Jermaine Woodard adding another score on a 3-yard run and Beard adding a PAT.

As the second quarter began, the Wolverines added 6 points to the board on a 9-yard pass from Zach Williams to Kirk Pennington. It would be the only scoring drive for the Wolverines.

Weir's James Woodard connected with Kaylen Hester on a 49-yard pass and score with Beard adding a PAT. James Woodard added another score to his belt with a 6 yard run. Woodard passed to Darius Fair on a 63-yard pass to pile another 6 points on the board with Beard adding a PAT. As the fourth quarter wound down, Weir's Steve Miller scored on a final offensive drive, giving the Lions a 47-6 victory.
