Ralph C. Bigham
Ralph C. Bigham, 84, of Maben died Oct. 8, 2004, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko.
Mr. Bigham was born July 3, 1920, in Pontotoc. He was a retired farmer and a World War II Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Alice Nickels Bigham of Maben; three sons, Terry Bigham of Maben, Paul Bigham of West Point and Michael Bigham of Mathiston; two daughters, Mary Jo Bailey of Eupora and Becky Morris of Cumberland; one brother, Emmett Bigham of Pheba; three sisters, Evie Ulmer of West Point, and Lydia Reed and Vinita Oswalt of Mathiston, 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sally Skein; and one son, Doyle Bigham Sr.
Services were Oct. 10 at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Spring Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ken Carmichael, Sonny Bigham, Royce Bigham, Lynn Bigham, Tony Brooks and Dale Ray. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Bigham, Patrick Bigham, Danny Dewberry and Randy Nickels.
Myrtle Mae Tidwell Simpson
Myrtle Mae Tidwell Simpson, 95, died Oct. 4 at her residence at Route 1, Weir.
Mrs. Simpson, a homemaker, was born June 2, 1909, in Choctaw County. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church.
Survivors include, one sister, Malinece Allen of Eupora; one sister-in-law, Myrtle Simpson; two nephews, Edwin Allen and Bobby Gibson; and eight nieces, Paulette Edwards, Darlene Jones, Faye Breazeale, Mareece Johnson, Bennie Pearson, Delois Hancock, Marcell Skeen and Linoa Newsome.
She was preceded in death by her husband Judge Truly Simpson.
Services were Oct. 6 at Wood Springs Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Sam West and Lanny Collum officiated.
Pallbearers were Shane Allen, Robert Allen, Jason Threet, Eddie Dean, Calvin Crimm and Tony Crimm.
Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
