Fresh produce should be available at a regional farmer's market beginning this spring in Eupora, according to County Extension Director Cynthia Wilson.

The Leadership Committee of the Webster County Development Council has obtained a $10,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Southern Rural Development Center to fund the project, she said. Dr. Van Eaddy, a grant consultant, wrote the application for the sustainable agriculture grant.

Wilson said producers from four counties will be involved. A Growers Association has been formed for operation of the market and had its second meeting Tuesday night at the Webster County Extension Office. All local producers are encouraged to participate.

Wilson said the association hopes to open the market in April and operate it through October. A location on Highway 9 is being considered, she said, but is not yet definite.

More details will be announced later. For more information contact Wilson at 258-3971.
