Margaret Louise Guess

Margaret Louise Guess, 88, of Ackerman died June 29, 2005, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Mrs. Guess, a homemaker, was born Dec. 16, 1916, in Millington, Tenn. She was a member of Fentress Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, William Guess of Magee, Curtis Guess and wife, Geneva, of Ackerman, Jerry Guess and wife, Judy, of Caledonia, and David Guess and wife, Patsy, of Union; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services were July 2 at Coleman Funeral Home with burial in Providence Cemetery. The Rev. Randle Poss officiated.

Pallbearers were Daryl Guess, Jeremy Guess, Roger Kelley, Milton Lester, Albert Mason and Charles Martin.

Ouida Crowley Carroll

Ouida Crowley Carroll, 84, of Mathiston died July 3, 2005, at her residence.

Mrs. Carroll, a homemaker, was born March 2, 1921, in Webster County. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Faye Nickels of Mathiston; a son, Sammy "Buddy" Carroll of Columbus; two sisters, Maudean Pollan and Jessie Faye Hunter Peeples of Eupora; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Carroll.

Services were July 5 at Oliver Funeral Home with burial in Clarkson Cemetery. The Rev. William S. Weddle officiated.

Pallbearers were Larry Carroll, David Cooper, Gary Gammill, Drew Nickels, Hayden Nickels and Vic Nickels.
