East Webster falls to Coffeeville

East Webster ended the 2005 football season with an 8-3 record after a 41-18 loss at Coffeeville in the first round of the North State 1A playoffs on Nov. 18.

The Pirates also knocked the Wolverines out of the football postseason in first-round playoff action last year.

This was the fifth time in the last seven seasons, under veteran coach Jimmy Carden and staff that East Webster qualified for the postseason.

Pryor returning player at Morehead State

Eupora High School graduate Quentin Pryor will be back on the court this season at Morehead (Ky.) State University under coach Kyle Macy.

Pryor missed the 2004-05 season because of a hand injury. He is one of three players returning for the Eagles and has been picked to be the marquee player.

His last season of play was 2003-04 at Jackson (Tenn.) State Community College. where he averaged 15.5 points per game and earned All Region 7 and All West Tennessee. The 2002-03 season was at Holmes Community College in Goodman, where he earned the Bulldog Hustle Award.

Pryor's parents are Bonnie Pryor and Huey L. Yates of Eupora.
