Mantee native Norma F. Kilgore will take over as the new general manager of Natchez Trace Electric Power Association this summer, officials said Monday.
Kilgore, NTEPA's manager of administration and finance, will replace Joe Boehms upon his retirement after seven years as head of the member-owned electric cooperative.
Pete Fortner of Eupora, vice president of the board of directors and chairman of the Selection Committee, announced Boehm's retirement and the board's selection of his replacement during the association's annual membership meeting. Fortner said Kilgore is expected to assume her new position in late summer.
"I'm extremely honored to be elected," Kilgore told those assembled in Eupora High School's Latham Auditorium.
She said NTEPA's employees are its greatest asset, recognizing their hard work in the area and on the Coast assisting other power cooperatives in the months following Hurricane Katrina.
"I'm very proud of all our people," she proclaimed.
Kilgore has been employed with the association for 39 years. Reared in Mantee, she has lived in Houston since graduating from Cumberland High School. She is also a graduate of the University of Mississippi.
The daughter of Grace Floyd of Tupelo and the late Hubert Floyd, she is the widow of the late Robert C. "Pee Wee" Floyd and has three children.
Natchez Trace EPA, which is headquartered in Houston with district offices in Eupora and Calhoun City, provides electric service to nearly 16,000 members in portions of Calhoun, Chickasaw, Clay, Grenada, Pontotoc, Webster and Yalobusha counties.
