Tai Chi Fridays
Maci Flautt is leading a Tai Chi for Arthritis videoconference exercise class every Friday in May from noon-1 p.m. at the Webster County Extension Office

Auction/benefit
An auction/benefit will be May 19 at the Vardaman Community Center beginning at 4:p.m. This auction/benefit is to help with the funeral expenses of Shirlene Johnson, who died April 18.

Nuts About Nutrition
Don't wait for tragedy to strike to learn more about nutrition and how to improve your health. The Nuts About Nutrition Club is here. The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program from the Mississippi State University Extension Service is offering the free monthly program.
Stadium jam exercises will offer fun for everyone. Great tips on how to manage one's time and money will be provided, and participants will learn to plan meals for their family to get the best nutrition at the least cost. Great recipes will be shared and prepared.
Hints on how to modify recipes for greater nutrition will be given, as will things to think about for prevention of heart disease, diabetes and brittle bones.
The Mathiston chapter's first meeting will be May 22 from 6-7 p.m. at the Mathiston Public Library and walking track.
The only requirement to join is to have or care for a child up to 18 years old. Children are welcome to attend. Call 258-3971 to enroll to ensure that enough materials are available for everyone.

Auction for library

Kids in the Kitchen
Make your plans now to attend the MSU Extension Service's "Kids in the Kitchen" camps at First United Methodist Church of Eupora.
Two separate two-day events will be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. One camp is June12 and 13; the other is July 17 and 18. These camps are designed to be a fun way to introduce children ages 8-15 to basic cooking methods, equipment and kitchen safety, as well as etiquette and nutrition. Children will prepare different types of food and learn to prepare some basics as well as some fun dishes.
Call 258-397 to reserve a spot as there is no cost, and the camps will accommodate up to 20 children per event.
WebsterCare to begin pre-kindergarten class
Registration is under way for a new pre-kindergarten class at North Mississippi Medical Center's WebsterCare Learning Center. The class will begin Aug. 7 and will run through May 2, 2008. Classes will be held from 8-11 a.m. and registration is being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The cost of the class is $130 per month. Registration will continue through June 15. WebsterCare Learning Center is located at 502 Veterans Memorial Blvd.
Festival set in Winston County
The 27th Red Hills Festival is Saturday, May 26 from 8 am until 4 pm.
Festival will be located in the Historic District on Columbus Avenue part of Louisville Main Street Community.
The festival will feature arts competition and adjudication, car show, children's area, food, fun and foot stompin' music as well as lots to buy and see.
