Charles Rivers announces to the voters of Webster County, District 3, he is running for the office of supervisor.
The lifelong resident of Tomnolen was born here and raised his two daughters, Melissa Dean and Melinda Allen, here.
Rivers, who has been employed by District 3 for the past 29 years, pointed out he has operated and repaired all the equipment that is used on a daily basis.
"I learned how by working everyday for the people of District 3," he said. "For 16 of those years, I was the road foreman, working closely with the supervisor, learning all about the everyday problems and decisions a supervisor faces.
"For the past two years, I have served as your supervisor. During these two years, I have worked closely with the other leaders of our county and learned much about the finances and business of our county. If elected supervisor, my past work experience would more than benefit you the people," said Rivers.
"During the past two years, I have met many people across the state," he stated. "To be an efficient supervisor, one needs to have many contacts to help our district and county grow and thrive for the future generations. I have also met and worked with the Webster County Development Council to aid in the recruitment of new industry. Also, I am fully aware of the current tax situation, and I have demonstrated this for the past two years."
The incumbent went on to say, "It has been an honor to serve as your supervisor for these past two years. I am dedicated to our district and county. If re-elected, I will continue to serve you and our county. I will be working for you the voters to keep our roads in good shape, and for the county to bring in more jobs and security for our children and grandchildren."
He further stated, "I am now in the process of visiting you in your homes. If I miss the opportunity to personally ask you for your support, I apologize, and I am asking you now for your show of support by voting for me for your supervisor.
"Thank you for all the support that is already being shown to me through the many phone calls and visits. I look forward to seeing as many of you that I can in the upcoming weeks."
