Traveling Museum
East Webster Elementary School is hosting the Walter Anderson Traveling Museum-Horn Island Project Exhibition during the month of September.
The purpose of this exhibition is to support art and teachers in collaborative efforts to teach students about the weather, tides, plants, creatures and ecology of Horn Island as well as the paintings, drawings, sketches and ceramic creations of one of Mississippi's most gifted artists.
The exhibition will be open to the public on Sept. 10 and Sept. 18 from 3-6 p.m.

Computer classes
Holmes Community College will offer modular computer training at the Attala Educational Center in Kosciusko during the fall 2007 semester. One may pick and choose or take all four modules. Six CEUs will be awarded for taking all four modules. Teresa Trussell will be the instructor for each module.
Module one, Microsoft Excel, meets Thursday evenings on Sept. 13, 20, 27 and Oct. 4, 11 from 5. until 9 p.m. One may can receive 20 hours or 2.0 CEUs. for this module
Module two, Microsoft Publisher and Print Shop, meets Thursday evenings on Oct. 18, 25 and Nov. 1, 8, 15 from 5 until 9 p.m. One can receive 20 hours or 2.0 CEUs for this module.
Module three, Microsoft Power Point, meets Nov. 27 from 5 until 8:30 p.m., Nov. 29 from 5 until 8:30 p.m. and Dec. 4 from 5 until 8 p.m. One can receive 10 hours or 1.0 CEUs for this module.

Turf field day
A turf research field day and equipment expo will be Sept. 14 at the Mississippi State University North Farm turf research facilities.
The field day will be of interest to anyone involved with turf grass management, but particularly lawn care operators, sports field managers and golf course superintendents. It will start at 9 a.m. with research tours and presentations, and end with the equipment demonstrations after lunch. A $10 registration fee will be charged and lunch will be on the grounds. Water training
The Mississippi Rural Water Association has scheduled board management training for water system or board members at the Eupora Depot on Sept. 17 and 18.
The local sessions will start each day at 5:30 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m. One must attend both sessions to obtain the eight-hour board management training credit. The registration fee is $75 a person.
The state now requires all water board members to attend training. Any rural water board member interested in attending may call 1-800-343-2520.

Childcare training
The Webster County Extension Office will be offering childcare training in Eupora at the Extension Office located at 16 E. Fox Ave. on Oct. 20 from 9 a.m.-noon.
Those completing the training will receive three contact hours. Dr. Rita Tanksley, area agent/child and family development, will conduct the training. The topic will be Mr. Rogers: "What Do You Do with the Mad that You Feel?" This program is to help children manage anger.
