She was retired and a member of West Shady Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Dean loved to fish, and she will be remembered as a loving and kind mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Survivors include her best friend and life partner, Sammy Smith; three daughters, Marguerite and husband, Pat Lewis, Diane Buford and husband, Ray Reed, and Tracie and husband, Tim Mitchell, all of Eupora; one son, Tony Hester of Eupora; four sisters, Cleo Hester of Walthall, Tincie Fulgham of Eupora, Agnes Vance of Slate Springs and Marzell Cobb of Hazelhurst; and one brother, Bussie Fulgham of Maben.
Mrs. Dean is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Lisa Lewis and husband, Carl Spradlin, and Lacy Lewis of West Virginia; Josh and wife, Samantha Buford, of Mathiston; Clint Hester, Mia Hester and husband, David Pogue, Madison Hester, Seth Mitchell, Haley Mitchell and husband, Brian Smith, and Caitlyn Mitchell, all of Eupora; Kristen Rowe; and an adopted grandchild, Lauren Lusk of Eupora.
Other survivors include seven great-grandchildren, Regan Williams, Blake Williams, Tristen McKee, Alex Lewis and Marli Williams, all of West Virginia, Caitlyn Hester of New Hope and Chloe Grace Smith of Eupora. Mrs. Dean is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Dewey Hester and Al Dean, her parents: Myrtle Bowen Fulgham and Shellie Fulgham; three sisters, Shirley Barnett, Barbara Brooks and Ruby Brown; and a brother, Paul Fulgham.
Services were Sept. 2 at Wise Funeral Home in Eupora with the Revs. Johnny Lollar and Coy Fulgham officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery outside Eupora. Musical selections were brought by Dr. and Mrs. James Wilson.
Pallbearers were Mike Boykin, Calvin Brooks, Randy Brooks, Brandon Cobb, Cody Hester and Jimmy Hester.
