Deborah Hood Neal, circuit clerk of Webster County, has released a list of important dates for the upcoming 2008 primary elections:

€ Feb. 8 (Friday) - Deadline to register to vote in the circuit clerk's office.

€ Feb. 9 (Saturday) - Deadline for mail-in voter registration: People registering to vote by mail-in application should mail applications no later than Feb. 7 to avoid missing the deadline. Applications must be postmarked no later than Feb. 9 to be accepted.

€ March 1 (Saturday) - Absentee voting: circuit clerk's office will be open from 8 a.m. until noon for anyone eligible to vote by absentee ballot.

€ March 8 (Saturday) - Deadline to vote by absentee ballot in the clerk's office. The circuit clerk's office will be open from 8 a.m. until noon for anyone eligible to vote by absentee ballot.

"This is the deadline," Hood stated. "No voting is allowed in the circuit clerk's office after this date so voters, mark your calendars."

€ March 11 (Tuesday) - Primary election for federal offices. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. for voting in the first Democratic and Republican primary election.
