Clever Clovers 2
The Clever Clovers 2 meet March 6 at 4 p.m. in the Webster County Extension Office. This is a new 4-H club in the Eupora area. Youth ages 5-18 are invited to participate.
This group is having lots of fun learning about 4-H. This is a great opportunity for youth to get involved in 4-H.
Art exhibit at BLY
Upcoming local visual artists with physical disabilities make their Eupora debut at an exhibition and artist's reception on March 6 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the BLY Fine Arts Center in Eupora.
The exhibition will feature Eupora artist Monica Herard as she makes her EXPRESS Yourself! debut. Ackerman artists Amanda Williams and Candace Stephenson, along with artists from Starkville, will also be part of the exhibition.
These artists have had the opportunity to feel the power of self expression through art by participating in Express Yourself!, an art program at Mississippi State's T.K. Martin Center for Technology and Disability.
4-H Shooting Sports
Safety meeting
The 4-H Shooting Sports Safety meeting is March 6 at 6 p.m. in the Webster County Extension Office. This meeting is mandatory for any youth who is planning to participate in the shooting sports program this year.
Anyone who has questions about this program may contact 4-H Youth Agent Julie White at 259-3971. Participants will be deciding their practice schedule during the safety meeting. The district contest is April 26 at the Starkville Gun Club.
Videoconference will
explain new Farm Bill
"And What 'Exactly' is the Farm Bill?" will be the subject of an upcoming "Hot Topic" videoconference to be offered at the Webster County Extension Office in Eupora.
Dr. John Anderson, ag economist, will share information relating to the development of the farm bill and what to expect from the 2008 Farm Bill. The free videoconference will be March 7 from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Absentee voting
Saturday, March 8 is the deadline to vote by absentee ballot in the Webster County circuit clerk's office for the March 11 primary election.
The office will be open March 8 from 8 a.m. until noon for anyone eligible to vote by absentee ballot. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday for voting in the Democratic and Republican primary election.
Gospel singing
A gospel music jubilee will be March 8 at 6 p.m. at the Gore Springs Community Center.
The Kilgore Sisters, Boundless Love, Heart Strings and Strong Hold will perform. Admission is $5.
Bingo at VFW
Bingo will be at 6 p.m. March 8 at VFW Post 3806 in Eupora.
Sherwood singing
A gospel singing will be March 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sherwood Community Center.
New Genesis, Heavenly Journey, His Majesty, Second Chance and others will perform.

Ace Cannon slated
at Eupora Country Club
Ace Cannon of Calhoun City, Godfather of Sax, will be playing at the Eupora Country Club on March 8 at 7:30 p.m. A free buffet-style meal will be served at 6 p.m.

Library program
The Friends of the Library will meet at 11:30 a.m. March 10 in the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church.
Former Webster County resident Opal Turner Brown will be presenting her newest book, "Every Little Soul." (see related article in this issue). Lunch will be provided, and all patrons of the library and interested people are invited to attend.
Blood drive
at Plymouth Tube
United Blood Services will conduct a blood drive on March 11 at Plymouth Tube Co. in Eupora.
The bloodmobile will be parked there from 5-11 a.m.
4-H Cloverbud Club
All youth ages 5-7 are invited to join the Webster County 4-H Cloverbud Club. The next meeting will be March 11 from 4-5 p.m. at the Webster County Extension Office. This will be a chance for younger 4-H'ers to become familiar with 4-H and the projects that it offers.
At each meeting, members will be playing games, discussing a 4-H project, making crafts and having refreshments. Anyone who has questions about this club may contact 4-H Youth Agent Julie White at 258-3971. Also, adults who would be interested in helping with this group should contact her.
4-H Horse Club
A 4-H Horse Club meeting will be March 11 at 6 p.m. in the Webster County Extension Office. This meeting is for anyone interested in the horse project, which includes showing, judging, quiz bowl, photography and art.
At this meeting, participants will be planning for the upcoming horse season and deciding on the activities that they will do as a club. Anyone ages 8-18 who is interested in horses is invited to attend this meeting.

Eupora Summer Park
Program registration
Registrations for the Eupora Summer Park Program are being accepted through March 14 for ages 4-17 at City Hall.
Registration fees are $25 for buddy ball, $35 for tee ball and $45 per child for children coach pitch and older.
An additional fee of $10 per child will be charged if registering past the deadline. No registration will take place after the teams have been drafted. Registration forms may be picked up and returned to Eupora City Hall, 390 E. Clark Ave.
2008 Boatman
Family Reunion
The 14th annual Boatman Family Reunion will be March 16 at the Woodmen of the World lodge in Eupora. All Boatmans and their relatives are invited to "feast and fellowship."
Devotion will begin at 11 a.m. Participants are asked to bring their favorite foods, something to auction off and softball gloves for a friendly game, weather permitting.

election April 15
The village of Mantee will have a special municipal election on April 15 for two aldermen vacancies.
The deadline for qualifying is March 18. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 15 at City Hall. For more information, call 456-4571.
4-H'ers need large
drums for trash cans
Webster County 4-H'ers are looking for help in starting a new community service project.
They are looking for 10-20 clean 30- to 55-gallon drums (plastic or metal) to be converted into garbage cans. The cans will be placed at local parks. A 4-H emblem will be painted on each.
Anyone who can help supply a drum or knows of a supplier may contact 4-H Agent Julie White at 258-3971.
NSDAR to meet
The Old Choctaw Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, (NSDAR), will hold their next meeting at the Choctaw County Library, Ackerman, Mississippi, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 8.
