Police have arrested two Eupora men who are accused of beating and robbing another man of $30.

Charged with strong-arm robbery in the March 13 crime are Anthony T. Johnson of Mt. Vernon Road and Jessie Sudduth of MLK Jr. Drive, both 26.

Brian Hogan of Uenda Apartments alleges the two took $30 from him by beating him with their fists and injuring his eye around 11:30 p.m. at 146 Westwood Drive.

Police Chief Gregg Hunter said Hogan, 48, suffered severe eye trauma to an eye socket in the attack. He was treated overnight at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora.

Officers arrested Johnson and Sudduth Friday morning in connection with the incident. Hunter said they were arrested with the cooperation of Mississippi Department of Corrections field officers Mike Perrigan and Janae Pittman.

Municipal Judge Buchanan Meek Jr. set bond at $10,000 each. The defendants remained in the county jail as of Monday and Johnson has a "hold" placed on him by the MDOC.

Deputies Make

Drug Arrest

The Webster County Sheriff's Department arrested a man last week on a felony drug charge.

Keith Stewart Hadley, 57, of Kilmichael was arrested March 13 at C&N (formerly Crazy Curtis) on Highway 82 West in Tomnolen, according to Deputy Sheriff Tim Allen.

Allen said he and Deputy Sheriff Dewyatt Winter saw Hadley's pickup backed up in the parking lot that night and questioned him. Upon further investigation, Allen said they found beer, half a pound of marijuana, three sets of scales and $325 in cash.

Hadley was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell. The marijuana, scales and money were seized along with his 2000 Chevrolet S10. Hadley has been released on a $25,000 bond.
