Authorities have arrested four people in connection with burglaries of area storage units and residences.
Deputy Tim Allen said the Webster County Sheriff's Department received a call on March 3 that someone was breaking into B&B Ministorage on Highway 182 west of Eupora. Upon arrival, he said officers found suspects on the scene and vehicles loaded with merchandise. Teresa Williamson, 45, was arrested on a charge of grand larceny.
The resulting investigation by various agencies, said Allen, linked that break-in to ministorage burglaries that had occurred in Mathiston and to a house burglary in Webster County as well as others in Choctaw County.
The sheriff's office has since made three other arrests stemming from the investigation, and additional related charges were filed against Williamson.
On March 4, Shane E. Swindle, 28, was charged with burglary of a commercial building. On March 5, Williamson, who had been released after posting bond on the grand larceny charge, was arrested again on charges of burglary of a dwelling and burglary of a commercial building. Also arrested that day were her son and daughter, Jimmy D Robinson Jr., 25, and Tina M. Robinson, 23. Each was charged with two counts of burglary of a commercial building.
All of the suspects are out on bonds totaling $20,000 each except Swindle, who is being held for the Mississippi Department of Corrections on an additional charge of violating parole on a previous conviction. Jimmy Robinson is of Mathiston and the others are Choctaw County residents.
Allen said about $1,100 worth of merchandise was stolen from B&B Ministorage and included furniture, clothes, tools, a garden tiller, air compressor and table saws. Merchandise stolen in the other burglaries was valued at about $3,500.
The Sheriff's Department expressed appreciation to the Choctaw County Sheriff's Department, Mathiston Police Department and the MDOC for their cooperation in the probe. The burglaries remain under investigation and Allen said more arrests are expected.
