The judge who was to hear a simple assault charge last week against a former principal continued the trial yet another time.

The hearing was scheduled for March 26 in Webster County Justice Court for Bill Brand. The charge filed against him by Linda Pee stems from March 2007 paddling of her daughter when Brand was principal at East Webster High School.

Judge Robert Jordan of Attala County Justice Court is serving as special judge in the case. He has reset the case for 9 a.m. April 10 because some court papers were not served, according to the local Justice Court office. This is the fourth court date that has been set for the hearing.
