The Eupora Lady Eagles fell short in their bid for a fourth straight state championship.
The North Half champions hosted Clarkdale Saturday and continued the best-of-three series there Tuesday in the MHSAA 2A fastpitch softball championship. Eupora had bounced the Lady Bulldogs from the playoffs the last two years.
Clarkdale edged Eupora by a score of 3-2 Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs won four 1-run games in their previous five playoff outings.
Cory Roberson singled in runs in the first and the third as Clarkdale completed a sweep of Eupora on Tuesday by a score of 4-2. Sarah Harris and Sarah Beckman had back-to-back doubles to open the two-run third before Roberson's second RBI single.
