Eupora police are searching for a man who fled when officers attempted to arrest him last week on outstanding charges.

Police Chief Gregg Hunter identified the man as Joel Avery Robinson, 38. He said officers went to his mother's residence on Mt. Vernon Road on Sept. 16 to pick him up on a warrant for domestic violence and a Circuit Court capias for felony sale of marijuana.

Robinson fled on foot and eluded arrest, according to Hunter. As a result, he now has an additional warrant against him for resisting arrest.

Hunter asked that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Robinson contact the Eupora Police Department at 258-4121 or Webster County Sheriff's Department at 258-7701

In an unrelated incident, a suspect in a Grenada burglary fled here last week before being stopped.

The Daily Sentinel-Star reported that Grenada police first chased the person to Webster County on Sept. 16 after he refused to stop for a traffic violation. Detective Russell Carver of the Grenada Police Department said he was then taken in for questioning in regards to a burglary, according to the article.
