"JACK" TURNER Eupora, MS

Mr. James H."Jack"Turner, age 80, passed away at his home

on Tuesday, August 18th, after an illness of several months.

A native of Neshoba County, Mr. Turner was born August

25th, 1928 and raised in the Coldwater Community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ely and Annie

Barham Turner; brothers, Ethel and Bill Turner; and sisters Ava

Dee Breazeale and Jewel Payne.

He had been a resident of Eupora since .........1955. He was

a retired line foreman with Natchez Trace Electric Power Assn.,

working there for 38 years. Jack accepted Christ as his Savior at

a young age and as long as his health permitted was an active

member of First Baptist Church of Eupora, where he served as

lifetime Deacon and Sunday School Director for 22 years. He

was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was an avid

sportsman and outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing

and Mississippi State University athletics especially basketball

and baseball.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Euice Salter Turner;

a daughter Paula Turner of Tupelo; son Russ (Carol) Turner of

Eupora; two granddaughters Kadie and Callie Turner of

Eupora; and a sister Carlene McGraw of Louisville.

Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 21st at

the Eupora First Baptist Church. Rev. Travis Gray, Dr. David

Booth and Sid Salter officiated, with burial in the Eupora City

Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m., Thursday,

August 20th at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Aubrey Holder, Terry Barron, Rocky

Felker, Jerry Turner, Sid Salter, Meredith Carter, Rober Easom,

Stanley Salter, John Tingle; Honorary Pallbearers were

Deacons of First Baptist Church.

The family requests any memorials be made to the Eupora

First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Oliver Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
