Traffic stop leads to crack charge

The Webster Progress-Times

A routine traffic stop in Eupora led to the arrest of a man this weekend on a felony drug charge.

City Officer Mitch Jackson stopped him Sunday night on Walnut Avenue for driving 39 in a 25-mph zone, Police Chief Gregg Hunter said. The driver was identified as Tamarus Andre Cunningham, 32, of 152 W. Clark Ave.

Jackson discovered he had a small bag of marijuana and a bag containing crack cocaine in his vehicle, according to Hunter.

In addition to speeding, no driver's license, no insurance and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, Cunningham was charged with felony possession of crack cocaine within 1,500 feet of Webster Care Learning Center.

The Eupora Police Department also seized the 2000 Chevy Tahoe he was driving, which Hunter said had a Montgomery County tag.

Cunningham remains in the county jail on a state Corrections Department hold because he was on probation from a previous conviction.

Thats good to make that bust. Now the local law officials should bust up some of the crack houses that EVERYONE knows about instead of worrying about someone going 5 miles over the speed limit. Oh. I forgot . That might cut into yalls under-the-table money. We cant have that can we. The truth hurts.
