Eupora sales tax collections rose 10.5 percent in November over the same month last year, according to state figures.
The city collected $3,356 more in November compared to last year. However, year-to-date sales tax collections are down 3.6 percent, or $7,653.
Eupora reported November collections of $35,259, compared to $31,903 for the same month in 2008.
The city has received $7,653 less this fiscal year to date in sales tax collections when compared to the same period the previous year.
Mathiston's November collections were $16,365, down 4.46 percent from the same month in 2008. Year-to-date collections there are down 9.6 percent, or $10,319.
The state's sales tax collections have a three-month cycle. Tax is collected by the retailer one month; it is reported and paid to the state Tax Commission by the retailer the second month; and the diversion is paid to the cities by the Tax Commission the third month.
Since the state's fiscal year begins in July, year-to-date totals reflect collections beginning in June.
